About
Who’s Chris Spangle?
1. He is 26. His birthday is September 9 if you’d like to send him presents. He’s got a fiancee, and she is way out of his league. They are getting married in May of 2011.
2. He is from Indianapolis. More specifically? Plainfield. This is where he grew up, but he currently resides in Southport.
3. He was the producer/second banana of the radio show, “Abdul in the Morning.” You can hear it live from 6 AM to 9 AM on Newstalk 1430 AM, WXNT. Or you can hear it online at www.WXNT.com. It’s a talk show that focuses on politics. It’s hosted by Abdul Hakim-Shabazz. You can check him out here: www.indianabarrister.com. It’s not as good now that he isn’t there.
4. His Mom is a nurse, and his Dad is an entrepreneur. Dad owns a business that restores marble floors. They also do construction clean-up. Chris works part-time for his Dad, and enjoys it. Washing windows and vacuuming is very zen-like. His parents divorced while he was in high school, so he gets two Thanksgivings, two birthday celebrations, and two Christmases (is that how you spell it?).
5. He has one younger sister, Jessica. She is a teacher. He has an even younger brother Eric, who is bossy. He works for Dad, but is a trained chef. Chris is the obviously the oldest, which means he got all the good genes.
6. Chris is a Christian. He became a Christian his senior year of high school after he got dumped by a girl. He’ll talk about it if you ask, but he tries not to be pushy. He has ZERO problem not legislating morality.
7. He used to be a Republican. He’s now a Libertarian. Mostly, he’s just a Contrarian. Look it up.
8. He wants to live in Indy for the rest of his life. He has no plans to leave Indiana. He loves this state.
9. He really wants to spend his life entertaining people, which will probably only happen when he tries to have children (or not). His goal was to be really successful at radio, and to be a mildly successful political reporter. Then he found out what that paid. He hopes to return to radio after this adventure in politics.
10. So then he left radio to work for the Libertarian Party of Indiana. He wakes up every day excited to affect social and political change in a libertarian direction.

Official Bio:
Spangle was a life-long Republican before joining the Libertarian Party in 2008. He was raised in Plainfield, Indiana, and graduated from Plainfield High School in 2002. He attended IUPUI, where he was the College Republicans President during the 2004 elections. It was there he worked on Andy Horning’s 2004 Congressional Campaign. Horning inspired Spangle to research the libertarian philosophy. He then went on to work at Newstalk 1430 AM, WXNT for 5 years as a producer and reporter. For the last year of his time there, he was the producer of Abdul in the Morning, the premier political talk show in Indianapolis. It was here that he witnessed first-hand how broken our two party system is, and decided to work to grow the Libertarian Party of Indiana and to affect social and political change in a libertarian direction. He began running the day-to-day operations of the LPIN in October of 2008.
