Who’s Chris Spangle?

1. He is 24, broke, and chubby. He’s Got a girlfriend now, and she is way out of his league.

2. He is from Indianapolis. More specifically? Plainfield. This is where he grew up, and he currently resides. Even more specifically? In his mom’s basement. He’s a real winner, ladies. Cut him some slack, he’s broke.

3. He is the producer/second banana of the radio show, “Abdul in the Morning.” You can hear it live from 6 AM to 10 AM on Newstalk 1430 AM, WXNT. Or you can hear it online at www.WXNT.com. 4. His Mom is a nurse, and his Dad is an entrepreneur. Dad owns a business that restores marble floors. They also do construction clean-up. Chris works part-time for his Dad, and enjoys it. Washing windows and vacuuming is very zen-like. His parents divorced while he was in high school, so he gets two Thanksgivings, two birthday celebrations, and two Christmases (is that how you spell it?).

5. He has one younger sister, Jessica, who is in college. She wants to be a teacher. He has an even younger brother Eric, who is bossy. He works for Dad, and wants to be a chef. Chris is the obviously the oldest, which means he got all the good genes.

6. Chris is a Christian. He became a Christian his senior year of high school after he got dumped by a girl. He’ll talk about it if you ask, but he tries not to be pushy. Most likely you’ll hear him curse more often then evangelize. That will probably be an issue in the afterlife.

7. He used to be a Republican. He’s now sort of a Libertarian. Mostly, he’s just a Contrarian. Look it up.

8. He wants to live in Indy for the rest of his life, work in radio for the rest of his life, and he wants to marry a woman and have children.

9. He really wants to spend his life entertaining people, which will probably only happen when he tries to have children (or not). His goal is to be really successful at radio, and to be a mildly successful political reporter.

What is the Facts Were These…?

This is a blog I started in late October of 2007. I hadn’t written since I unofficially finished college (which means I didn’t). Despite the fact that I went into radio to avoid writing, all I do is write. And I am very out of practice. So I wanted to start a website where I just wrote about my daily life. No matter how boring and uninteresting (to others) a day might be, I want to blog about it.

So the goal of the website is just to write down my thoughts about what goes on in my life. At the same time, I want people to be entertained. If a person finds my thoughts and site remotely interesting, then I hop they’ll keep coming back, and pass it on to others. Mostly, it’s so I have something to do.

I’ll also be posting more photos, videos, and podcasts as soon as I figured out how to set all of that up.

Basically, I stole the concept of this website from Kevin Smith’s View Askewnivurse and from Howard Stern’s Stern Fan Network. So if you see similarities, I admit it. In fact, the title of the blog was stolen from Pushing Daisies…

I want to bring back some old school chat sessions amongst my friends. They’re all scattered around the country now, and it’s tough to keep up with them. So I hope people flock to the message boards and chat.
